Kurt & Katelyn

Happy Friday!

A few weeks ago, Brent and I woke up bright and early to meet Kurt and Katelyn at one of our favorite downtown places, Central Market. We took advantage of the gorgeous early-spring weather, bonded over accidental dancing and random movie references, and most importantly - we laughed a WHOLE lot.

Warm, endearing, friendly, hilarious, welcoming, and sweet - these are the words that come to mind when I think of these two. I love the way they complement one another so well and it's so obvious that they are 100% themselves when they are together. Katelyn has the cutest infectious giggle and Kurt is always right there to make her laugh. I could go on and on, but for now I will just say that it has been an absolute JOY getting to know these two and I am [seriously] so excited for their October wedding!

Luis & Mary - Engaged

After about ten minutes of typing, then deleting, then typing again, then rethinking, then deleting... I have decided that my brain isn't at its best for writing eloquently tonight and I simply can't wait any longer to share this sweet session with you - so I'll let the photos mostly speak for themselves. I will say that I really adore Luis and Mary. I've known Mary for years and had so much fun reminiscing while we captured these photos. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were in sixth grade and meeting for the first time,  so it really feels extra special for me to reconnect with her during this season of life and see the way that she loves Luis and he loves her. Truly, truly overjoyed for them as they prepare to commit their lives to one another in May!

I should also mention that 50% of the images that I took were of Phoebe, the silliest diva of a pup given to Mary by Luis as a gift for her birthday last year. Needless to say, she's a pretty important member of their family and therefore she rightfully deserved a pretty significant amount of attention. As Mary would say, "the world needs to experience her cuteness." She is definitely very loved.

Brittney & Matt - Sunrise Session

I feel so fortunate to live in a place where four very distinct and uniquely beautiful seasons exist and while I appreciate each of them, winter is by far my favorite. My list of reasons for this is pretty extensive and includes but is not limited to: cozy scarves, tall boots, hot tea, Christmas, it's the only time of year that my excessive blanket collection is appropriate, SNOW, watching Toby (our furry pup) frolic around in said snow, etc.

What I really love about winter is the simplicity. I love the silhouettes of the trees and the way that everything inside me leaps for joy when the sun is out. I love the way that snowfall seems to bring people together and beckons us to slow our pace. I love the warm glow of the morning light and the crisp air of sunrise on a snowy Sunday morning in January - and that's exactly what it was like when we met with Brittney and Matt. They are a sweet and incredibly down-to-earth couple who claimed to be "very awkward in front of the camera," which was clearly a silly joke because just look at these two...

It was difficult for me to narrow down, but here are a few of my favorites!

Trevor & Sharon - Engaged

My weather app tells me that the temperature hasn’t risen above 23 degrees today and it felt even colder while I was walking my furry office manager, Toby, earlier this morning. It reminded me of the chilliest portrait session that we’ve had to date with Trevor and Sharon - one of the warmest couples you will ever meet.

When I sat down to write this post, I had a difficult time putting to words how I feel about these two. They are wonderful! I’ve known Sharon for quite a few years now and often wondered if a man even existed who would be worthy enough to share a life with her. She is strong, loyal, intelligent, and possesses both inward and outward beauty, among so many other things. And then I met Trevor and instantly I knew - he is kind, doting, equally intelligent, driven, and they complement one another so perfectly that it almost seems unreal. But it is! And it is so evident, even in photographs.

I was, as usual, so very excited when Sharon asked me to do their engagement photos and I still cannot believe how stunning these two are together! We met at the restaurant that Trevor’s family owns (one of the finest restaurants in Lancaster and a favorite of Lady Gaga’s when she’s in town, The Log Cabin) and ventured in and around the property to capture some of my favorite images. I love how the simplicity of the setting accentuated their classic and polished style, and we ended the evening with great conversation and an incredibly delicious dinner. You can't beat that!

Enjoy.

Josh & Amy

Ah, going through this session has certainly gotten me into the Christmas spirit! Brent and I were so happy to spend an afternoon capturing some of our dearest friends a few weeks ago. We’ve known Josh since high school and were blessed with Amy’s friendship a few years ago when she entered his life. Josh is an amazing DJ (his mixing totally gets me dancing and that is really rare for me!) and he is so great at bringing people together in community. If you ever happen to see him out and about, say hello! Amy is thoughtful, genuine, sweet, stunning - AND she is a very talented artist, I recently blogged about her incredible business "From Heart to Ink."

I hope you love these images as much as I do!
